Hi everyone,
Just thought id share the sh*t Ive been through with play.com. This is the first time ice had problems with them, and they appear to have a very poor customer service team.
Here is what happened:
I pre-ordered PES2010 with the free t-shirt on the 23/09/09, nothing wrong with that.
On the 23/10/09, my game is posted.
The 24/10/09 my game arrives with no tshirt? I phone play.com and say look.. wheres my tshirt? The guy puts me on hold while he speaks to warehouse. Once hes back he tells me, Ive spoken to warehouse who are now shipping you one out, were sorry blah blah.
I wait till 14/11/09 and report on the website that my item is still missing (you have to wait 21 days). The website claims that they will report back within 24 hours.
OK, so I waited till 17/11/09 and still no reply, so I email from the website again saying look, you've messed me around twice now, wheres my tshirt.
18/11/09 I get an email offering me £5 to replace the tshirt as there is none in stock. WTF!!!!, OK so i reply telling them to shove the £5 up there ass and that i pre-ordered therefor its all there fault and £5 doesn't cover being ignored twice and lied too.
I received an email this morning telling me that they are sorry I will not accept the £5 and that i should phone customer services again (oh joy, why for them to lie to me again?)
OK so i phone them, and explain to them the story all over again, they asked me what I would like since there is no Tshirt, i said well i could send the game back and get a refund (£40) and then go to ASDA and buy it for £25 which would leave me with a profit of £15, so why not call it £15 and i wont cancel all my pre-orders with you and tell everyone you have messed me around.
I get put on hold (listening to ice cream van music) for 10 minutes, then i get told that there manager would not accept that offer and they have sent a returns note to me to return the game for a refund.
I'm so pissed off at that, I'm tempted to scratch the disc to f*ck and send it back!
What do you guys make of it, or has anyone had any run ins?

Personally I would have taken the first money offer they gave you. After all its just a shirt. I also wouldn't pre-order from them again if they cant follow through as a company.

I use Play.com all the time and had one major problems, which wasn't a biggy. My partner ordered an Alastair Reynold book for my birthday which turned out to be "out of stock " We waited for 5 weeks and it never came in so we just cancelled the order.
Part from that every order has been fine be it straight from Play.com or a Play Trader, just a bit of BAD luck this time round mate.
Send it back and get it from ASDA or Tesco if it's cheaper.
EDIT: Though I'd mention, I bought 3 blu-rays from them last Saturday 2 came from there buy 1 get 1 free section all are priced at 13.99, the 3rd also came from that section but when I added it tol the basket it came up at £6.99 instead of the 13.99 it should have been so I got buy 1 get 1 free and another half price lol. System error not sure if their still doing that deal right enough.

I've had two problems with preorders, both the bonus for the preorder not coming. One was the KZ2 theme not being given to me and the second was not getting the "Boobie watcher" comic with role models. But yeah, apart from that they have been pretty awesome.
