PLEASE: my 60g ps3 wont allow me to play games, what can i do
alright, i was playing saints row 2 my ps3 froze during a save. i turned off the system and tried to play again. it currupted the data so i proceeded to remove ALL data pertaining to the game. it froze while it was loading up the new profile data... i then tried reformating the ps3 which takes close to 4 hours. tried again and it allowed me to load the profile data but froze on me while saving. i turned off the system tried to play again but it didnt reconize the game that was still in the ps3 i removed and put it back in. it started up and allowed me to get to a loading screen before it froze again. i can play regular dvds if that matters. PLEASE any help is appreciated and i thank you in advance. im scared that im at a loss

I have tried to recover from the recovery menu, no to redownloading the latest firmware. Sorry for my ignorance but is the firmware the same as the system update? 2.8 was my last. Thank you for your time

Does it do this on ALL your games? It looks as if you only kept trying Saints Row...

I tried a game that didnt belong to me, Iron man. It froze during the load up screen.

you say you tried a game that did not belong to you? So o I guess you borowed it from a friend, 3.01 is the latest update and many changes to game compatabillity and fixes have been made since 2.8. It could mean that these isues wered fixed in a later update. Althou I fail to c why games freaze on boot, have you got any games on your hd you can try booting?

Yes to the game being Borrowed from a friend. I reformated so i dont have any games on the HD. i'll try to update to 3.01 and use another borrowed game. for SR2 it allowed me to progress alittle further into the game but froze while i tried to save. I retried to play the game but again froze in the load. I spoke to a Sony Tech over the phone and they replied saying it could be a blueray lens issue. Thank you stepnage for your patience with me. I'll reply again once i update

Hey.. updated to 3.01, no help. im almost possitive its a blue ray lens issue.
I was able to load up another game, shortly into it the sound went out. i tried to quit the game via PS button and in doing so the ps3 froze. Power off power on, it then didnt reconize the game. I removed it and tried a dvd which functioned. grr. Anyone have another idea? Thanks in advance
