Hey guys,
I just got the Assassin's Creed game region 1. My PS3 is region 2 but I believe that it supports both regions 1 and 2. I was play the game last night, but I noticed that the graphics are not up to 1080
on the game case it says "Supported HD video output: 720p and 1080i"
my PS3 is connected to an LCD Acer G24 via HDMI, max resolution is 1920x1200
can anyone tell my why I don't get the 1080 resolution? is it something got to do with my PS3 or LCD?
thanks in advance ![]()

i thought 1080i isn't any better then 720p , i think most games are only 720p
wipeouthd is 1080p and to me it dous'nt look better then any 720p game, but then again i have to sit very close to the tv to see the difference between 1080p and 720p ,and i have an 40inch lcd ![]()

You won't notice much of anything unless you have a large tv.
I play on a 42'' and 720p and 1080p have some what of the same level of clearness.
However, 1080p doesn't mean its better graphics. Look at Uncharted...only plays in 720p.

Only with NON CRT displays. People are still not reading up on this resolution stuff? If it is a CRT (and it isn't), there is NO difference in 1080i or 1080p.
School:
LCD, DLP, PLASMA, i-DLA, DO NOT display Interlaced Video! Any display that does not have a CATHODE RAY TUBE - DOES NOT, WILL NOT, CAN NOT, display Interlaced Video.
If you have a LCD monitor that supports 1080p, and the display says it's 1080i, then it is either 720p, or 1080p. It is all what the monitor decides to DE-INTERLACE to, back to PROGRESSIVE SCAN.
If the PS3 is outputting 1080i, then the LCD may DE-INTERLACE at 1080p, if the MAX res supports that in Progressive Scan... You may also get some LAG with de-interlacing.
READ THE FACTS on it, this has been gone over so many times, it's like a squirrel that has been run over, over and over again....

Look at the back of the GAME, does it say 1080i or p?
If so, is your PS3 settings for AUTOMATIC video output, the reslolution?
If so, then it's the MONITOR not communicating correctly with PS3, to let it know it supports 1080p.

he allready said in the first post that on the back of the game it says 720p and 1080i, but i don't get the problem here, what is wrong with 720p
if you want 1080p download wipeouthd demo ![]()

Well, then 720p and 1080i are going to be the SAME on an LCD monitor. It can go to 1080p, but the monitor is not doing it, so 720p is what you get. I would get 768p on mine, at 1080i.

news: so I've been able to get 1080 out on my display and let me tell, IT SUX!!
it's a very poor upscaled picture. my monitor does a better job upscaling from 720 to 1080
thanks guys for the help, I just thought there really are games in Full HD
