Firefox and Cookies

Everytime I use firefox (on various web pages) I select the option of "Remember me". (For sites like FACEBOOK).

However, when I return to the site (after closing the browser), it asks me to re-login. It does this for this site as well, even though I've always been logged in even after I closed it (until today).

Now, this only started occuring today. ALSO, Yes, the option to SAVE COOKIES is enabled in the options > privacy, AND it is set "KEEP COOKIES UNTIL THEY EXPIRE".

Now, I had this problem with 3.1 or whatever the version was before 3.5, then I updated to 3.5 to correct the problem and it is still there.

Re: Firefox and Cookies

Did you tell the site to remember you as well?

Yeah, so I got the Sxipper plug-in for FireFox, it keeps a store, so I don't have to worry about that anymore.  I used to have RoboForm, but that doesn't work with the new versions of FireFox.

Re: Firefox and Cookies

Mine does it for this site also but no others (I dont use facebook so I dont know about that site). I recently reinstalled Vista and it happened before the reinstall and after. Its weird but only a minor inconvenience.

Re: Firefox and Cookies

Mine does it for this site and youtube. It's really annoying. It also does it to other sites but none I can think of off the top of my head.

Infact, I have to log into this site twice for it to log me in. I'll sign in once and it will take me to the forums not signed in. Then I go back to the login and I have to sign in again for it to let me sign in.

Re: Firefox and Cookies

Yeah, it keeps my login info but never automatically logs me in on this site and a few others. I can't erase all my cookies because some sites (youtube) i don't have my login info for anymore.

I was wrong in my last post -.- it's cookies.sqlite, and then key3.db for master password, and signons.sqlite for the encrypted logins. Also I think you have to type in the user name in the known form before it auto types the pass for you. If that doesn't work check settings and file existence. Also under security you can view saved logins.

If you use it I suggest clearing url history or noob level malware can dump plain text logins. URLs are used to keygen for FF all the way up to the current build and complete idiots write VB and .NET malware and spread it through exploit frameworks and warez with binders and PE encryption. Your safe on other platforms since nobody bothers with posix like systems.
