Hi all newbie needs advice before buying a ps3
Hi all used to play alot a few years ago and now would like to come back. I would like to buy a new ps3 but not sure which model is the best one to get. Is the 80gig worth buying ? or do i need to find a older ps3 model ?
I might be interested in a few homebrew apps later in life but not sure on what the best firmwire to have ?
Could anyone let me know before i go and buy a new ps3 and update it to the newest firmwire.
Like i said im not up to date and need info on which ps3 and which firmware to have .

For hardware BWC, you need the original 20/60GB unit. Then the other ones with Software BWC, which are not all that great.
If you do not care to play PS2/1 games, then buy any PS3 currently out there...

Well it depends on whether or not you'll buy games off the PSN, store music and films, etc. I've got a 320GB with 100GB full

You can't use the PS3 to rip movies to the HDD, use a Media Server. Please search now, you are getting into an area that has been covered many times.

I meant rip to pc, then transfer. Sorry for the confusion.
