Never updated it but it came out of the box 4.01. It's a slim and I heard that the 4.01 out of box edition has a new motherboard that is currently not downgradable. Is this true?

Damn. Now I have a useless psp. Unless I can buy a different MOBO. Would I be able to do that?

You mean a 2000 or a 3000? I thought that most 2000s could be flashed after creating a pandora battery.

I have 2000. But the newer models have the TA88v3 MOBO in them. I heard it was the ones that came out of the box with FW4.01 which mine did.

Any word on the ta88v3 being hacked? My PSP is collecting dust on my desk. I might look into modding it with LEDs. Trick it up for, hopefully, a soon to come hack.

How could you idenify a TA88V3 mobo? If i was to use pandoras battery and the normal memory stick that i used for the older mobo would this lead to a brick?
I have not kept up with the psp scene lately

libtiff exploit working in firmware 5.03 for the 1000 and now 2000 series. Just maybe those 3000 models will have an exploit soon.
