If you wanted to bring up a topic again why didn't you find an old thread and bump it?

There is the WinXP emulation thread, TinyXP, and stuff. Nothing on 2000 or 98, HOWEVER, XP, NT, and 2000 are all similar.

98, I don't think will run good on ps3 because it's not really built for the ppc architecture (originally made for server computers) and not really compatible with it.
Although xp and others run like crap but still function is because they are made for server computers. (NT)

the only reason I'd emulate windows would be
to try and find an xbox emulator for it
then play halo on a ps3.
however from what I hear
this dream may never happen
since windows is crap.

Will never happen cause the PS3 is not powerful enough to emulate xbox on just a PowerPC core and no graphics.... Nothing to do with Windows other than you can't install windows on PS3. You install Linux, then emulate windows, then you want to emulate xbox?

What he means is, the GPU cannot be utilized to be able to run the Xbox Emulator. WE do not have access to the hardware acceleration.

If you want to run windows on the ps3 under qemu I would suggest using a 9x version. As you can see in this video windows 95 is rather responsive.

Linux is too slow in my opinion. so emulating anything would be way too slow.
