ps3 finally hacked - well sort of!

Well, for those of you who would like to program the PS3 without messing
around with Linux, I have now completed a demo app that runs directly
under the hypervisor. I.e. no linux needed, not even kboot.
It demonstrates graphics rendering with the CPU (directly to DDR memory)
and multibuffering, as well as some needed system management (set
video mode, reboot etc.)
The basics of this means that we can now run code under the hypervisor the code is in compiled into an elf file. (Ps3 PKG and other download files are packed ELF files but come with in the form of an SELF file (an elf file with an SCE header)
This is a great step forward in the Homebrew scene for PS3.
(please note that it looks like any code being run is still not run under GameOS but I’m not 100% sure about this?.)
Maybe some coders will find it usefull in homebrew

This is similar to what is being done with the Xbox360. There are two Kernel versions of the XB360 that allow the execution of code, due to a shader exploit (GPU ralated). However, if you take an update, or have an Xbox360 that does NOT have either one of those Kernel versions, it doesn't work. SO, you are basically catering to a few people -vs- the entire XB360 community in this case.
A firmware fix will be made for this by Sony if or when the exploit works, as what M$ did for this problem with their console.
