is it just me or there is no bonus movie option in the video. if there isnt he somehow launched the downloadable version of the game not the disk, because on the blueray version has bonus movies option

yea, the WARHAWK can run from a PSN DOWNLOAD.
And if I'm not mistaken, there is a MOTORSTORM DEMO, GT5 can be downloaded, RESISTANCE DEMO, and cod3 was added so it doesn't look too fake.

PS3 backups running.

StreetSkaterFU has discovered an interesting way of getting backups running under PS3. Read more here, and check the video here. (Yeah it's a bit dark, but that doesn't means (at least with this one) that is a fake video)

We can confirm that it's for real, although it's still under a Proof of Concept state.

Here is the concept: What is the difference between the Downloadable game Warhark, and the BR-D version of Warhawk as far as the GAME goes.  NOTHING, correct?  Yes, that's right, nothing...  One you download as a .PKG, the other is on blu-ray.

If it only works with a few games, then what's the catch?  No information on that, or maybe it's only for games you can get from both the PS store, and retail store.   Does it also mean that you're limited to the GAMES because of size? 

Proof of concept huh?  I like how they're all uppity about this, then won't explain $hit...  So, you got to call it what it is...  The title of this post: "hackers get ps3 backups running illegally & legally?"  There is no LEGAL about it, in order to make backups run, you need to circumvent the protection.  It is ALL ILLEGAL under the DMCA, so there is no legality about it.

If you obtain the keys and encryption methods to make the .PKG from a game disc, that is also illegal, because the information was obtained illegally. You CAN make .PKGs from a game disc.  Without a Debug Console, you won't be able to run them. 

This is another step in the RIGHT direction for a possible method; if, they can figure out how to make and install .PKG files, then you only need make the program to rip the BR-D game to the necessary .PKG, sign and get it installed.  The XB1 signatures were found much later, so, who knows when this will happen with PS3.

hmm, I don´t know but I think your mistaken on this one powerslave. when both Mathieulh and Alek confirm it, there must be something there. Even good old Humma Kavula showed interest. there´s a second video. very interesting indeed.

I dont even give a $hit about the ps3 being hacked. And actually if ps3 is hacked that means sonys next console will have even more beefed up security meaning longer delays. Bigger file size in downloads. And sooooo much more $hit we have to deal with.

I only say this is not BS because if Mathieulh says it's true, i believe him.

Cuz if i go to the playstation forums then ill have to deal with posting while another 25000 people are posting on the same topic while you are. Theres too many people here. Plus i said i dont care if it gets hacked. I never said i didnt want it to be hacked. If i was never interested in it gettting hacked i wouldnt be here in the first place. I just think that if the ps3 does get hacked its gonna mean we are gonna suffer with the next console sony gives us

ya I see what your saying now turnsignal I mis-interpreted your post apparently. The PS4 will have even better security as will all computer systems in the next 5-10 years whether or not it is hacked. So we are going to have to deal with it next gen regardless.

seeing so many fake hacks etc before, people are going to wounder if its real or not, so when eventualy it does come we will be saying its not true because we have seen this so many times before, if it is true, then alot of people are questioning the bonus movies option for example, wouldnt it be easy for them to come out and explain that bit, to sort of prove and give abit of reasurance, to prove they are not just the same as all the other jokers

hope it is right, opens the doors for alot of great stuff to come

like said previously tho, if it effects it being blocked online for gaming, ill pass too
