20Gb and 60Gb are no longer in production but for the sake of this question the 20Gb has no chrome, no wireless, and smaller hdd.

60Gb has all features. Full backwards compatibility through software not hardware, wireless, 4 USB ports, chrome, and larger hdd. For now if you can try to get a 60Gb. 80Gb has backwards compatibility (For now) 4 USB ports and larger hdd.

As of May 16, 2008, there are over 9.8 million registered PlayStation Network accounts worldwide, with users having made 170 million downloads totaling 86 petabytes of data, which Sony says is equivalent to 17 million single-layer DVDs worth of data.

Re: F.A.Q. (What do i have to know before getting my PS3)

Why you would want a ENGLISH game when it seems you cannot speak it fluently? Also, if you want to buy from the PlayStation Store, you need to setup an account with the PSN (on the PSP) then use a CREDIT CARD to purchase items with.

You could set up an ENGLISH (US) account, but I'm sure your credit card would not work in their system.

Re: F.A.Q. (What do i have to know before getting my PS3)

UPDATED VERSION:

FOR ALL YOUR HACKING QUESTIONS LOOK HERE FIRST. This menu is under the heading of MAIN MENU for your convenience. Check here before posting further questions.

Q. Can I hack somehow my PS3?
A. Unlike the PSP, the PS3 cannot be hacked.

Q. Can I play PSX(PlayStation 1) / PS2 (PlayStation 2) backups on my PS3?
A. You can play PSX and PS2 backups but you need to open your console. For more info Click Here

*Only consoles that support PS2 games will run; check next section.

Q. Which PS3 is better? 20GB, 40GB, 60GB, 80GB or Slim Models?
A. 40GB has 2 USB ports; No backwards compatibility for PS2 games and smaller HDD.

60GB has all features. Full backwards compatibility through software not hardware, wireless, 4 USB ports, chrome, and larger HDD. 20GB, which was released a long side of the 60GB model, lacks WiFi support and the chrome trim. It, however, is able to play PS2 games with full compatibility.

There are 2 types of 80GB models. One of them has 4 USBs and plays PS2 games through emulation. The other version has 2 USBs and cannot play PS2 games at all. The second version is similar to the 40GB with a smaller HDD.

Now released, the SLIM comes in 120GB and 250GB. It lacks both PS2 compatiblity and the OTHER-OS feature included with all other consoles. It is however lighter and smaller in size. It also comes with larger HDDs than any other console. It lacks the touch-sensitive buttons featured on all "Phat" consoles.

*The SLIM model is the newest of all PS3 consoles.

Q. What is XMB?
A. XMB (Cross Media Bar) is your menu on the console (when you power it). The XMB can be accessed In-Game through update 2.40 or later. The XMB Menu is trademark and registered to Sony Inc. and you can also see it at the new Sony Vayo Laptops and their New TV's (From 2008).

Q. How to update my PS3 System?
A. The PS3's Firmware can be updated by going to SETTINGS > SYSTEM SETTINGS (Note: this requires a broadband connection). The alternate method is to update via USB device by downloading the update from US.PLAYSTATION.COM or UK.PLAYSTATION.COM

Make sure when updating via USB to place the file in the following folders:
X:\PS3\UPDATE
The PS3 will not recognize the update unless it is the UPDATE folder.

*The current firmware version is 3.15

Q. How to connect my Playstation 3 to the internet?
A. There is currently 2 ways to connect to the PS3. Wired connection allows for a direct line between your Modem or Router (whichever you are using) and your PS3. The other option is Wireless, which will require a Wireless Router and any PS3 system that is not the 20GB model. For both options, a broadband connection is required.

Q. What is PlayStation Network?
A. The PlayStation Network, often abbreviated to PSN in the gaming community, is Sony's free online service provided for use with their PlayStation 3 (PS3) and PlayStation Portable (PSP) video game consoles.  To access the PSN, a PSN ID (Playstation Network ID) is required. A broadband internet connection is also required to sign-up via the PS3 (it is also possible to sign-up from their website at us.playstation.com) and to login via the PS3.

*You cannot connect to the PSN without updating to the most recent firmware (unless the firmware is optional).

* = NOTE.
