Isn't it kinda fishy...

The PSN will have HD Movies, ready for buying, downloading and playing on the PS3.

And I suspect that HD Movies are huge in size, so how come it will be able to load? I mean the FAT32 only allows files up to 4GB to load, so how come this >4GB movie file will load?

Is the movie split into parts, or is there something else?

Discuss.

Re: Isn't it kinda fishy...

Then why don't we compress the HD movie before uploading it on the internet?

Re: Isn't it kinda fishy...

It wont allow us to transfer files that big on to the console. Downloading it will. You could download an HD movie from a media server to your console and it will work

Re: Isn't it kinda fishy...

only thing that needs 2 be in format FAT32 are removable disks...but the ps3 can recognize NTFS format also..from what I heard...in order 2 get past this "4 gb" limit format your Ext. HDD in NTFS smile

Re: Isn't it kinda fishy...

doesn't support NTFS. It is a completely different file system like how Linux uses EXT3. EXT3 can handle files over 4GB so why couldn't MS make a proprietary internal HDD file system?

Re: Isn't it kinda fishy...

Aah, so if, let's say, an iso loader is created, we would be allowed to download iso files directly from the internet to the internal drive and load them from there?

Hell I had no idea. And the PS3 Internal hard disk is not FAT32??

Thats awkward because I had a brand new ext HDD that was sold 2 me in NTFS i plugged it into the ps3 out-of-box and it recognized it...

Re: Isn't it kinda fishy...

it ill see it but u cant use it. and you dont have to dl directly off the net to get content to the ps3 hdd. u can use redkawa to transfer over the network.

Re: Isn't it kinda fishy...

Red Kawa server never worked for me. Same as the MP4/PS3 converter. It would convert files in like 2 seconds and then the file was corrupted so yea.

I use SIMPLE CENTER, it doesn't convert files but since I have such a small HDD (60GB), I use a SD card and place my PSN videos on my computer and then stream them.

By the way - I won't swap HDD's now because I have a lot of saved game data and some of which are LOCKED and I don't feel like restarting those games (rsv2, rockband, etc)

Re: Isn't it kinda fishy...

AVCHD(Blu-Ray structure on DVD9) is what I use for movies nowadays. It's always useful to have hard copies lying around anyway, kills two birds with one stone. They play flawlessly on my PS3.
