Re: Home looking sweet

From ps3fanboy, it says that HOME will be region-locked so you can only chill with your friends if your in the same region (unless you go to each others apartments, in which case its not region-locked).

Game Space, Movie Theater, Home Space and Marketplace will all be region locked.

Re: Home looking sweet

Just watched the video. The graphics look Frackin' awesome. But i seriously hope sony doesnt delay it again. They showed it at E3 and if they delay it, it would be a HUGE let down for sonys customer base. Even tho its free sony is still gonna make money from the ads they post in HOME.

Re: Home looking sweet

I currently have the BETA and its not all that. Right now tho, we only have around 0 - 3 people playing at any given time.

Once it comes out, it'll be a lot bigger. I want the ability to have what sony said they "might do" and allow you to advertise in your apartment for PSN Money. Thatd be sweet.

Re: Home looking sweet

No I hope they don't. There will be a bunch of spammers and everything. They rig up an apartment, advertise something there, and invite people there who they dont even know and make a $hit load of money for doing nothing. You'll see people all over saying "Visit my apartment for a free tv." or something like that.

This makes me smile everytime I see it! YOU WILL NOT BE MAKING BARELY ANYTHING AND IT WON'T BE REAL MONEY!

I can't see it happeneing at all and couldn't care less either way but if they do do the whole earn money through advertising thing then you would get barely anything over a long period of time, there would be limits on how much you can advertise and it would be money to spend in Home or on the PSN Store only. Take this bit of common-sense stuff....what company in the right mind would pay for a complete nobody with no advertising knowledge to have a virtual picture of their product on the wall of their virtual room in a virtual room?!

Re: Home looking sweet

I heard HOME is be the same as the VIDEO PSN STORE and work based on your IP address rather than your actual account country.

Re: Home looking sweet

That region locked thing was all because of the advertising, fracking bastards lock us from meeting friends across the globe just for a little cash.

Re: Home looking sweet

Its because of racism in advertisements and stuff like that.
Or if it has like an american company and not a european one, its injustice.

Re: Home looking sweet

Dude region locks is to keep you from getting pissed off which i know alot of you will when some japan dude comes along and cant speak english whos trying to talk to somone who only speaks english. Whats the point of meeting someone in japan when you cant speak there language!? Plus what are you gonna do when you cant read an ad because sony has it in a diff language!? Thats why we have region locks. To keep people to there own language and sense HOME is gonna have so many people in one place they are gonna need to diff severs in diff places. Japan servers in japan. USA servers in USA and so on to keep ping down.

well what if they implemented different "continents" so that depending on ur region, you would always start there and your HOME would be there, but if you want to u can go to the other "contintents" to play with your friends from other regions.

Actually, its all based on the advertisements.

"We were given a pretty in-depth walkthrough of the current state of Home, including a couple of game spaces (images of those later), during which we asked the bloke as many questions as we could think of. Top of our list? Making sure that we would be able to meet up with our friends all across the planet in the various public spaces. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Home's public spaces are going to be region-specific.
If you want to meet up with your pals from abroad, then you'll be able to invite them into your apartment, but warping into the game space to bowl or play chess is not possible. This is allegedly to make sure that each region receives an "experience most suited to their tastes" as well as, no doubt, to keep advertisers happy. The last thing they want is Europeans seeing an advert directed at Americans."

Re: Home looking sweet

Must admit, even though it looks the same as it did the first time they had the beta and that the huge delay was for stuff they should have done already, it does look good! Then again, Star Wars, Star Trek and Stargate SG-1 all look good but are all futuristic things that won't ever come....like Home then really!
