I don't think so. For the PSP to be able to even use remote play you have to synch it up with th PS3 before you use it the first time.

What if you connect your PSP through your PC and Copy its F0 folder that indicates its mac address then connect your PC to your PS3 that should that work?

I want the ability to check your mail and friend list via pc so you don't need the ps3 to send messages and what not.

me 2 JoN- it would be nice -
If you got a media server running on PC like i do you can access movies/music/photos on you PC also through PS3 with remote play- So you have the stuff on PS3 & PC HDD.
I have mine to have access to 4 HDD's - I use remote play & can access PS3 HDD, Externall HDD hooked up to PS3 & 2 PC's HDD's with media servers all through remote play - so i have a hell of a lot of storage space to acces stuff through remote play
