Hello all, I will most likely be taking apart my ps3 tomorrow for cleaning and to make molds for the very first ps3 aftermarket casing for myself. I will either be making molds, or paying a plastic injecting company to make me about 20 full cases. I am not promising the case will happen as I have not bought the materials or found a plastic company near me. Although my friend's father is in the plastic molding buisness I will most likely contact him. THIS IS NOT PROMISED TO HAPPEN BUT IT IS IN MY BEST WISHES.
I will be taking apart my ps3 case tomorrow no doubt, and I am asking if anyone on ps3-hacks needs a picture of a specific part inside the ps3, I will provide the picture on request, I might take pictures of the ps3 disassembly if I have enough requests, so if you would like to see this process on here, just say so.
Wish me luck finding a mold company.

You can do this all yourself, in fact, I just wrote a thing about doing this YESTERDAY, how to make your own mods, and if you want, I can get the information on how to melt your material to make the product. It will take a few times to get it right, but, that's all I can do... There are a few ways to do it, professionally, the injection method seems to be the popular one.
See this: http://www.taxidermy.net/forums/MoldingMenu.html
That is a molding and casting forum.

ran into a problem, I need to get the special security star bit, I only have the regular torq drivers, so I'm gonna need to order a new one to get into it.

@rp41d
I used a regular t10 tork bit to get my lid off, just push a little harder or if you still cant get it drill out the center of the tork bit and it will go in farther so you wont have to push so hard. ive taken mine off 4 times without modifying the bit.
if you have one with the media slots sd, ms, cf make sure to remove the 2 screws that hold it down before pulling off the lid as 2 clips hold it to the lid and if u leave the screws in you might break a clip.
also when reassembling make sure to clip the memory stick module or whatever u want to call it back to the lid and dont screw it down till the lids on or u'll have a bitch of a time getting the lid on properly.
peace and good luck with the molding.
oh btw the manufacture of the case's name is on the inside of it. please post cuz i cant remember and i wanted to look them up and contact them.

Yeah I'll make pictures maybe even a video of it, still nedd to mod the bit it won't work by just pushing on it hard.

i just use a flathead screwdriver and bend that nipple in the middle over a little and i can unscrew it with no problems with the flathead, bu just make sure its the right size cuz if it isnt snug you could stip it easy when tighting it back together.

I'd like to see all the parts up close if you want to photo or video the whole disassembly.
