Build a NES computer

I saw this over at our sister site nes-hacks and thought I would post here. I found it rather interesting a could be a neat project that may be relatively cheap to put together.

I personally would use it as an all purpose media center PC but the designer uses it as a emulator gaming machine supporting these emus.
- Super NES
- Sega Mega Drive / Genesis
- Sega Master System
- MAME (Arcade)
- Game Boy (Color)
- Game Boy Advance
- Sega Game Gear
- Turbo-Grafx 16 / PC-Engine
- Sony Playstation (games run from CD drive)
- Nintendo 64

Anyway here is the link
http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-a … do-NES-PC/

It is a rather interesting read I though anyway.

Re: Build a NES computer

I'd love to do that.

I can't tell; are there specific instructions that new individuals follow when entering?
Actually, that couldn't work; they don't follow or read any directions given; it must be instinctive.

Re: Build a NES computer

There's enough room...

They have been doing that with Stand UP Arcade chassis, using a PC or XBOX1 to do the emulation.

Re: Build a NES computer

Sure the room is there, but I don't know about my time or money fitting into that equation...

Re: Build a NES computer

it would be fairly cheap to build. Considering you would need a mobo with video and sound imbeded it wouldn't be the best rig but would come fairly cheap. I am guessing $200 - $300 would get this thing set up. $300 would get you a really decent one overall.

Really I haven't priced everything but I am just speculating.

I could see that as a problem.

I tried finding my old NES and with no luck sad If I can find one for cheap I will do this project.
