Just posted @ QJ.NET
A couple of weeks back, Yellow Dog version 6.0 was released with several features for your PlayStation 3. Now, the said software is available on several public mirrors.
If you're new to all of this, here's a bit of a primer. Yellow Dog Linux (YDL) is a free software from Terra Soft Solutions and it's based from the Fedora Core. Here are some notes from the official website:
Please note that while YDL is made available to the mirrors on this day, each mirror has its own update schedule, some syncing data every hour, others every few days. Terra Soft has no control over the speed at which YDL propogates to the public mirrors.
You can check out the list of mirrors by clicking the link below. Oh and if you're new to the entire Linux thing, you might want to ask for help, read the detailed installation instruction manual, or check out the release notes.

I got it off of a .torrent in the middle of last month.
(Note: This is legally, freely shared data. No need to warn me of illegal .torrent downloading.)
It runs well.
Haven't looked into the support for controllers, et cetera.
I suggest creating at least a 1 gig swap file. It seems to help a lot.

I honestly still have no clue how to install ydl. the only reason I want it is to play snesx9 on ps3, my system is without internet access so all installs and updates are done through a flashdrive. I go through the mirrors but there is so much crap in the directories that I dont know what Im looking at let alone how to get it from the computer screen to a flash drive to the PS3. Im not very good at tech lingo, but I do some basics and I know what I want out of my PS3. Can someone on this forum help me out with this?

Yeah probably connected to a bad mirror. Also try the torrents. It's legal cause you can share Open Source.
