I recently purchased a new PS3. I haven't been able to get much use out of it though. I've yet to buy a game, but I did buy two blu-ray discs'. When ever I play the movies the screen has a snowy/pixelated look to it. It's really annoying and I'm positive it could be a lot more clear. I'm using an HDMI connection and my resolution is at 1080i. I plan on getting Metal Gear Solid, but I want to clear this issue up before I get it.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
If anyone can help me fix this problem I would appreciate it.

IT all depends on the TV when using the HDMI port. I have seen some bad pictures on PLASMA displays, they look like MPEG1 video, even with HDMI. IF you had a TUBE or CRT HD display, you would not see that. You have an LCD, PLASMA, or DLP, which are incapable of INTERLACED video, they are DEINTERLACED to the max progressive resolution of the TV, usually 768p on LCDs that are not true 1080p.

I really have no idea what that means. I have an olevia HDTV. It supports 1080i. Picture is great on my 360, but I use componet cables.
If you have AIM you could IM me mikeisraddude

Yes, it SUPPORTS 1080i, but does not display in 1080i, it will be 768p if that is the max (V) resolution. You need to look around here, I have explained this way too many times to do it again.
