Does anyone know anything about hacking on here or is this tech supp?

I have a PSP (TA-082) and almost took 2.80 but found that I needed to stop at 2.71 in order to homebrew.  I haven't seen anything on here in regards to the same discussion but for PS3.
It's all geared towards technical issues like power supplies and downconverting video, etc.

Anyhow I have FW 1.00 and boxing wants me to take it to 1.02
I want to avoid being one of those who takes an update which #$%(s me.

So should I take it or are ppl already eloading on their PS3 and I need to stay at 1.00...
It'd be cool to know so I can start playing these awesome games.

well realistically are you going to keep your PS3 at 1.00 and lose the ability to play ANY games for it period?  i wouldn't worry too much about it.  when the PSP came out in Japan it was 1.0, the first US was 1.5 i believe, and now look you can do homebrew with 2.7.  there's no talk of that kind of stuff because none of it exists yet.  besides, nothing good homebrew wise is going to come out anytime soon.  also, it looks like any first party games are going to require you to have the very latest firmware to play online, as in Restistance.
