I made an overlay for the PS3's XMB to make it easier for you to match a custom background to the layouts.

[720p &1080i]

The yellow button indicates the space were the icons are located in the cross media bar, you can use this space to match your custom made background with the icons, the blue bars indicate the location of text, and the green space indicates the background.

You can easily use this with photoshop or any other image editing software, build your background around this layout and delete it as you go to get an idea of how it will look like.

For SD TVs.

Heres what I did using the icon overlay.

I made it randomly to see what I could do with it.

Im going to work on it now, it took me alot of time to make the image multiple times and copying it over and over until it fir perfectly, SD should be easier, thanks for reminding me.

i tried it myself.. but my atm only working tv sucks too hard to get any good out of it

Removed annoying text, made a Halo around monster & warrior, changed the lights a bit & used the template above to set the "item-bar".. hope the placement is right.. dont have a tv to check right now.. if not, let me know.
