I created an account on paypal for this forum and i was wondering if anybody would be interested in donating money towards a new Blu-Ray Burner for one of the admins
if you donate money then i would buy one and ship the Burner to either one of the admins you choose
does anyone want to do that?
after the account gets enough money then i will let one of the admins pick wich BD-R burner they want on ebay...or any other website that uses paypal
This new thread was made to bypass ALL the drama in the original one.

I know it's not much, but I donated 5$
I wish the burner goes to Powerslave. I want the PS3 cracked open and I think he has what it takes to do it.
However, I remember reading that he didn't "crack" or "hack" things anymore cause he almost got in big trouble...
Anyway, good luck with that burner

Powerslave - How much is the Blu Ray burner itself?
I might have a very small amount left in my Paypal after I bought Dead Space ;/

The LiteON DH-4B1S-13 is 209.99 right now, so they're coming down. Which makes no sense, because their 4B1S-08 is 30.00 more, and just adds support for BR-RE, oh I see, and a much lower access time.
The Pioneer, of course, is the most expensive one, clocking in at 359.99. The cheapest LG one is 229.99 and has a 2x -R higher burn rate than the Pioneer. LG has a 10.00 more model, but has the same specs.
Yeah, they are coming down, it will take a while before they get to the point where they can be bought, and the media is cheap enough to experiment with.

When the media comes down to a reasonable amount I plan to get one.

@ powerslave
do yourself a favour and buy the LG one as they are alot better made. more sterdier plastic and also mechanism is much smoother and stronger. ive tried lite-on and they are absolute crap, they spit disks out at you basically having to catch them (thus jamming and damaging disks), there noisy as hell and flimsy. i switched to LG and had no problems whatsoever. so its upto you which one you choose but there is no reason why you should want a cheaply made liteon when an LG has same or better specs and better build quality! so just a bit of advice for you when you buy one
-=STAY CLEAR OF LITE-ON=-
