So u got an external USB dvd drive and attatched it to ur Ps3? But when you try to play games it crashes? Ok that would make sense, the PS3 doesn't have the drivers for the DVD reader. Im supprised that games even show up with it.
PS. That whooshing sound was the sound of the joke going over your head.

Yes, maybe there is a way to run (homebrew) games like that, just needs a little reaserch.

nah, just give it up... the PS3 is far superior to the PSP.. it's been a year and no "hacks" have been released. Or even come close to remotely working.

Ya, I agree. I had also already tried an external dvd drive.. you never know.
Zeiks, can you explain a little better. From what I understand, your launching swapmagic and then trying to load elf files through the dvdrom-usb? ya, that should lead to a crash. or are you already running launchelf and then trying to access the dvdrom-usb?
anyway not a bad idea but I donīt think ti would work because itīs not a compatible usb mass storage device.

I don't know, maybe it's nothing, just thought you should know!
Maybe it's just my ps3, or the dvd'rom is special.

I tried something like that in the past.
For i.e. I have attached 360's HD drive and tried to get that to work. (imagain blu-ray and hd on a same console) any how it didn't work out too well. xP

having a usable HD drive would be freaken sweet
never happen through sony tho it would cut back on there blu ray sales and they can't have that
maybe through linux os one of these years

Yes the ps3 HAS been HACKED because their was exploits and explits means hacks! how bout infectous team they hacked the ps3 iv'e heard of em.

no an "expoit" is jus the system naturally crapping out. now if you are able to inject code while this exploit is in effect and are able to make the consol do somthing or even gain access in it in any way then that is a hack bunt since this hasint happend it hasint been publicly hacked
