Um... I hope this was an accident. lol.

MAC OSX will never run on ps3. Reasons:

1. PPC !=(does not equal) PPC64. The ps3 is 64-bit ppc with no 32-bit handling that i am aware of. ps3 was meant to be a gaming console, not a computer. The ppc that mac osx was built upon is still 32-bit. Dont ask the difference between 32-bit computer and 64-bit computer, use wiki otherwise ill be here forever.
2. No driver support. If i remember right, mac used ati/amd graphics cards as well. The cell processor is unique and there arent any built-in instruction sets(on the mac osx) for the cell. No RSX (nvidia's graphics card) would also hinder its performance.
3. Even with the source code, the mac osx requires HUGE modification (pretty much turn it up-side down) to make it work efficiently. Even though gcc (compiles source code to machine code) for ppc64 might automatically do this. It will still run like a pig due to the lack of RAM (i SO wish they left it 512mb!).
4.  Linux != Unix && Unix !=Mac OSX. OSX is a heavily modified UNIX kernel. To a point where it is a class on its own. Ps3 otherOS was built with linux in mind. OSX doesnt even resemble linux in any shape or form.   
5. The ppc version of windows NT is DEAD. Plus, like i said before, ppc !=ppc64. Besides it only supporting the devil's advocate. THIS may one day be a possibility to use a windows os IF toshiba does use the cell to compete against AMD and Intel. Dont forget that the cell was a joint venture by IBM, toshiba and sony. But dont expect ppc vista to be on the ps3 ever. No enough ram, you need 4gig to run vista smoothly. ps3 only has 256mb. Though i would say that ppc windows server 2007 would run quite nicely on ps3 if it was ever released.
6. Theres a completely different BIOS system from pc hardware to mac hardware. EF~something (enhanced firmware something) is used to detect a mac computer from a pc computer. Though saying that, its been hacked. But only limited to certain Intel Core2Duos with 64-bit. I wish they could hack it for amd XD.

Yeah, fat chance ps3 will be eating apples anytime soon. But linux will do what you want it to do. But saying that, there is a period of grind because it is not a windows os.

people have made patches for AMD processors so you can use osx on a pc, not to say it might still have problems, but it will run. But very good post, you explained alot for the people who dont understand very well.
