Not an exploit, yet, but surely interesting.

Yeah, that's cool. I have 2 pal ps2s but I am not sure if I have any of these demo discs. Gonna search for a disc when I get home, it's interesting and something might come out of this.

I call BS, on the first video when he "exits" the alleged "homebrew" 25 seconds from the end of the video, why would it tell him to press the ps button to connect a controller? and 12 seconds from the end it shows the controller reconnecting.
Second vid, either the controls lag like a bitch or its fake
I mean if its real HB why not show booting into it?

It's obvious that it is real. The image quality is ok and the videos are properly lighted. Have you ever played a ps2 game on your ps3? When you start or quit the game you are asked to press the home button. On the second video, there is lag. Either the bd control causes it or the game is programmed like this. As of why he doesn't show us how he boots them I can't give an explanation. At first he wanted us to believe that he has found an exploit and runs homebrew. At the last video though he explains that he tricked us on that. Not that it is not homebrew, but that it's not ps3 homebrew running on an exploit.

I don't understand how he stated these apps.

I found the demo disc with the yabasic. The rotating cube is one of the programming examples in the disc. Nothing much, it's just like loading a ps2 game, but you can make a custom application with this. But it will run in ps2 emulation mode. I don't think that something will come out of this.

Maybe for ps3 bkp games, but might help to run Ps2 or Ps1 games bkp, or other regions, without having to void the warranty

And how could we do this? Are we gonna program a backup loader with yabasic?? It's not possible. The only thing we can do is to write a program that overflows the memory. But I don't think that ps3 and even ps2 will be vulnerable by this. This would be the first thing that sony would have considered before shipping the demo disc ![]()
Edit : Well, it doesn't let you dynamically allocate memory so I don't think it's possible to make a program that will consume all of the console's RAM. I can't think of any way to make ps3 (or ps2) crash with the tools provided by yabasic.

maybe if there is some kind of bug in the PS3's emulator. Like some games don't run well and quit or stuff like that. I dont it will work on EE Ps3 but still
