you can do that just make a file on you mem stick called ps3/music or ps3/movies then put your media in those files only mpeg 4 videos work on ps3 and there are plenty of video converters out so you can convert ur xvids to mpeg eg http://www.xploder.net/playstation-3/pr … of-PS3.htm

i want a better internet browser.... the ps3's is just slow. and it can't stream QT or WMV. Also, the sizing of the page is not smart enough.
next, i want the media player to be able to stream audio via internet radio channels.
Offline
ps3 browser is slow and it doesnt let you do anything while it loads...
hopefully they will change that in the future.

Sometimes it just dies on me, it could be my internet connection but my computer never does that.

Offline
yea mine also.
It's just ps3 browser. (wireless alot of the time.)
Computer Internet browser don't do that . They wait until reconnect and until then they ping to see if it's available.
Offline
wireless? i totally give up on it. it's even slower with wireless.... pls use wired. my laptop can connect wirelessly even further than my ps3. even when i place my router next to my ps3, the signal strength is still just bout 55%.... sucks. i want a third party wireless reciever which is tonnes stronger than the ps3's!! please!!
Offline
i'm wondering if we can indeed use 3rd party wireless adaptor.
Anyone tried yet? I have 1 more linksys adaptor in my house somewhere...

Reasons why I look forward to play backedup games.
Loading speed will be much faster.
I don't have to get up to switch bd if i wanted to play something different.
Plus, I have a 500gb ext. hard drive laying around not doing much. ![]()

i want my ps3 to be able to play PAL dvds also.
Offline
whew~ the infamous pal dvds....
i think in linux mode there's a dvd player that plays pal dvds.
anyone with any knowledge in that?
Offline
so will the ps3 possibly be able to play backups off of an external HDD, instead of burning backups?
Offline
that's the idea.
Paradox has one iso loader that works but they are hiding the thing better then little boys hiding porn.
Supposedly it was supposed to be here already. However they didn't release it on time for some strange reason. Many do believe that they will release it on the day of european launch.
(Some acutually said today.) You can add ext. hard drive to the ps3 but you need to format the hd on fat32 format. To see more detail on that matter go to the help section.
