PS3 won't play GI Joe

Hi, I just recently bought the GI Joe BD DVD and PS3 won't play the disc until the firmware is updated. Anyone know what's the minimum firmware version to play GI Joe BD DVD?

if you have to update the firmware why not update to one of the latest firmware's and if you don't trust 3.00 install the one before that wink

there's absolutly no reason to stay on older firmware

There is no need to stay on an older firmware as mr worried suggested. Its not like the PS3 is going to be hacked anytime soon.

Thanks but no thanks. Is anyone's PS3 firmware below 2.00 able to play GI Joe BD Movie?

I'm willing to upgrade to version 2 but not more. I can upgrade 1 step at a time but just don't want to spend my weekend doing that.

There is not going to be a firmware exploit like on the psp. Your wasting your time and not getting the most out of your console by staying on lower firmware.

and to update the ps3 you dont have to apply one after another you can just go straight to the lattest

Thanks for your response, but yours is not what I'm looking for.
I'm glad I wasn't the "upgrading type" and so I avoided the 3.00 FW fiasco...

3.01 has caused no problems here either. In fact, if your gonna upgrade at ALL, go to 2.4
I can't believe you are willing to go without in-game xmb.

Yes, 3.01 is supposedly fixed 3.00 and 3.02 will be supposedly fixed 3.01 and so on like an endless addiction.

I might as well going back exchange to DVD version. But I saw one post with v2.43 can play the GI Joe.. To be or not to be..

Actually, if you want to make sure, get 2.41
I read 2.4 had some "bugs" which bricked PS3's...not entirely sure though
