Can you use any 40gig blueray board with any 40gig motherboard?

so in other words every 40gig blueray board-to-motherboard is different?

so im basicly screwed cause i bout a broken ps3 with no blu-ray drive or blue-ray board and without the blueray board im screwed right?

you need the logic broad the goes with the MB of that PS3

The Logic board in the Blu-Ray drive is KEYED to the PS3 mainboard it was produced with; they are "Married." You cannot use any drive with any motherboard, this is the SAME with Xbox360 drives. There has been no method of extracting the KEY from the PS3s drive firmware, so we can't fix them from a FRESH drive.
