well my ps3 ylod a couple of weeks ago and i got it back from sony. i had a 320gb hard drive in my old on before with all my saved data and games. when i tried to out the 320gb back in the new system it said i had to format. i don't want to lose my data. so is there any way for me to get it back????

Did you remove the 320GB before sending it back? If so, NO, there is nothing, and I MEAN NOTHING you can do to get it back. DO NOT think there is, because THERE IS NOT.
When a drive is formatted in the PS3, then it is for that PS3 only, basically, keyed/encrypted for that unit; and would have to be reformatted if placed in another machine. If you remove a drive, and use another one, the drive you removed is no longer valid, there is a shift in the encryption, so it is different.
IF you removed the drive, and sent it back EMPTY? Well, they have to put a drive in to test the functionality, thus voiding your drive.
This is common knowledge, and is posted all over this site, and net.
There is a BACKUP feature at the system option in XMB, you should have done it.
