Copying Games

Hey,

Im new here but i have a question, what is the technology consoles use to prevent people merely copying blue ray discs on a computer with a blue ray burner then simply putting it in the PS3...for computer games this works..

If your copying 100% of the disc surely theres nothing different to it the contents of the data yet consoles know the difference, why is this.. what is on those valid discs that are not on copied ones for it to not work.. theoretically it should work if its 100% disc to disc copy :S?

Also im sure this is asked alot, but is any one trying to work on a mod to allow backed up games or has it been proven an impossibility, i've noticed the ps3 is one of the last consoles to get cracked, what did they do to make it so hard to crack like all other consoles... ?

(Try to reply with ease of understanding if your explaining sumin technical because im not wiz with this stuff)..

I been looking for ages for any leaked info of ps3 games being played which were backed up as isos yet not a penny found on google yet.. ps3 must have some damn good security implemented.

Re: Copying Games

the PS3 IS NOT cracked, and MAY never be
it is LOCKED-up tight

a hack system= MONEY is LOST

ISO loading WILL NEVER happen, that been said MANY MANY times

i thick
games disc have a boot code sector the tell a system if it valid disc(TOC?)
that cant be copied

i think
mod chips  Can bypass this
360s, have a type of FW for the drive, that can bypass it

The PS3 optical reader is nothing like a RETAIL BR-drive, they are Proprietary drives.  PC burners can't reproduce data their game disc writers can.

100% False

It is not one of the last to get anything, there are no hacks, cracks, or mods to play backups from any medium

You read the information yourself, see the MAIN MENU section, which you should have done first  before this post

You cannot have looked for ages, the PS3 has only been out three years.  The security is better than XB360, and by the time anything happens on PS3, the PS4 will be out, and no one will care.

Go to the MAIN MENU section and study, HARD...

All consoles have this lol... so ive not seen any valid arguements to conclude its impossible yet. Other than its "locked up tight" which means nothing to me...too vague

Re: Copying Games

It is not BOOT CODE, it is a security sector(s) on the disc that indicate it is an original.  Boot code is boot code, the DRIVE looks for the security sectors that stamped on the disc.  It's the same for XBOX360, the only reason XB360 was hacked was because the DUMMIES used a regular DVD drive, with modified firmware, and reverse stepper motor wring.   They learned how to use the drive to dump the security sectors, and put them on the backup, a simple explanation...

No one has mapped the PS3 BR-D interface, and published anything about it.

No one has done anything with the BR-D firmware, no dumps, no THEORIES on hacking it.

The past consoles did no use a Hypervisor, so making a CHIP to bypass security was easy.  With XB1, hacking the BIOS was easy, there was no Hypervisor to contend with.

IF you hack the PS3 BIOS, it becomes invalid (by whatever method THEY are using), and the Hypervisor will prevent access to the hardware.  SO, you have this other wall to break down.  NO one has been able to bypass the Hypervisor on PS3.

Xbox360 now runs Xell directly booted, but what is NOT being mentioned, is, do you have full access to the GPU for Xell?  If so, then the XB360 will be cracked wide open within six months.  With PS3, you did not have full access to the RSX in Linux, so anything worth while was not happening.

There is a lot more to these new security measures than people anticipated.
