Went to a local shop, and asked if he had any "Serial Ayy-Tee-Ayy" (SATA) Cables...
He looked at me like I was an idiot, and asked what I needed it for. I said, I have a drive I want to put in my PC, I got the power adapter, I just need the Serial ATA cable. He goes, you mean an IDE cable? I said NO, Serial ATA... He looked at be again and said "You mean Saa-Tuh (SATA) cable?" I said, Yeah, "Serial Ayy-Tee-Ayy." He looked at me and said that he didn't think I knew what I was talking about, he never heard anyone say Serial ATA before... Dope...
I got a SATA cable for free... He has hundreds of them...

That's pretty sad lol. Love going to those little 'Ma and Pa' computer shops and listening to them tell people stuff. I was once behind a guy who brought in his system because his CPU fan had died and wanted them to install another one. They said that they are probably going to have to format his system and install Windows after putting on the new fan... I was just like ![]()
Didn't keep my mouth shut in that situation lol.

Yeah, Parallel Ayy-tee-Ayy, then when he says, you mean IDE, then I can say Yes...

I call it "Saa-Tuh" too. Just seems quicker/simple. SATA didn't exist or wasn't as wide spread when I took my PC class in high school so I never learned what it was short for and when my cousin taught me to build PCs he didn't bother telling me either.

The complete form for SATA is: Serial Attachment
Could you imagine the dudes face if I would have said THAT?
"Hi, do you have any Serial Attachment Cables"
The best thing he could respond with would be "Yes, Spock..."
