Trust me, its completely a waste of time. I'd rather have NOTHING than that. I send messages and it's way easier. (Just enter what you wanna say in the SUBJECT field, so they can see it at the top right corner).

Cellphone
Land Line
Majic-Jack ($19.99 a year)
Skype
When I play a game, and want to talk to someone, and they are playing a different game? I pick up my $24.99 unlimited a month unlimited calling VoIP (comcast) PHONE, and call them up...
I really do NOT get this insane concept of talking over the video game console, when picking up the phone, and CALLING them up is just as good, if not better... Then I and THEY can 3-way call the other people and have a party, 'eh, on the phones...

Yeah, it's a cool feature... I don't play on-line anymore, really, but I like the free content though M$, which is why I keep it. Kids that play today just suck ass, and I won't play with babies anymore.
Also, MAJIC JACK? For $19.99 a year, I think anyone can afford to give out that phone number... I have one at the office for our service line, and it's great. What is cool, is if you have a LapTop and go to a free WiFi spot, and plug in, you can make and get your calls at the laptop... Even if you have Cellular internet, the MajicJack, about as big as a USB micro-drive, just plugs into the USB port with a phone jack at the end of it..

It's good "in theory" but would be useless if your not in a WiFi spot.
I mean, I'm not always running around with my laptop AND I especially do not wish to continually search for a Wifi spot. I have a cell phone, but unfortunately, even their batteries die after 2 hours of talking...And I also text and do other stuff on my phone.

PSN is calling your name, too bad you also have an issue with buying "crappy ports".
I know it's because less people on PSN have mics than on 360 but the consensus is still true, there aren't as many (vocal) immature kids or racist on PSN as there are on Xbox Live. And cross game chat is rumored to be coming soon, but it is always rumored to be coming soon/in the next FW update.

Well I prefer that over "nothing"
I don't usually respond in them but the fact that you can go back and read what has been said at anytime is nice and you can meet friends that way (through other friends) without leaving whatever you're doing or whatever game you're currently in. And some people still don't have mics so it's nice for them too.
