ah ive herd they where taxed and thats why they had no commercials on tv but didnt know they called it a license. but the no commercials thing is badass cuz i can watch the full 24 hours of le mans on motors tv with out commercial interruption online unlike Speed tv here in the US which breaks away for nascar a few hours in. about time those brits came up with something good

Yep BBC are the reason we pay £130 a year to watch anything that can recieve a radio signal. as BBC Iplayer is not a live feed this should not change the need to have one, although if u have any equiptment that can recieve a radio wave (for TV or Radio) then u have to pay for it, even if u dont watch/listen to it, all because your equiptment has the capabilities of getting it :'(

EDIT: and after just reading that link im not paying TV licence anyomre, when i first got one it was if u own any equiptment that is capable of receiving a signal, looks like that has changed

seeming as iplayer doesnt do live TV u still wont need one

Yeah I don't watch live feeds, I prefer to download all my stuff from the net and stream it to my PS3

There is no comercials on the BBC channels ALL others had adverts on them.
