well thats what i heard for the NTSC and NTSC-J but i removed my power supply from my ps3 and i seen it had an input voltage of 220 - 240.

from what i understand the NTSC have what is reffered to as a "universal" power supply.

The later models were PSU specific. The Release models are supposed to be Universal.
Since you are in the USA, inputting 115VAC will not cause any damage, so a unit expecting 220-240.
IF, you took a later model PSU specific unit to THERE, and inputted 220, you would damage it.
The worst that can happen, it doesn't work...

yes thank you but the information im looking for is can i take a later model PSU and put in my 220 system? will it plug right in or would i have to rewire? im pretty sure it wouldnt matter due to the fact that it steps the voltage down anyway. i want it to be clean so i dont want to have to have a step up voltage converter. is it possible for one of you if its not to much trouble to open there NTSC system and send pics of the PSU inside there system for me? like the plug on the back and front and possibly the other plug on the bottom side where the 2 prongs that plug into the psu from the mobo? idk if that like the norm or if its allowed to happen, if not i can give u my email thru a PM. thank you guys for helping me. i really appreciate it. like i said this is my first time posting anything on any forums, and it really helps. ![]()

Well, since you have not YET told us what model PS3 you have, we can't answer you, specifically, but, if anything, the PSU is all you would NEED to change out.
