Recently I was telling my friend about how the PS3 hasn't been hacked, I then went on saying that's why you don't see any copied games.
Although he said it is possible, He said you can just copied it in a BD drive (PC)
I said no, Because there's a watermark on the discs.
Then he said, You can copy the watermark.
So I said, Why haven't they done it then? (Copied games)
He said, because they can't be bothered and it's expensive
But I would like to confirm this if you can actually copy a PS3 game disc onto a blank BD disc.
and if so would the PS3 read them.
Mainly I want to know so I can prove him wrong.

Correct... Please look at the MAIN MENU forum, newbie, and see all the information on this stuff.

I did, unless there is more information, because I didn't see anything to do with this.
Sorry for asking non-sense

Wow, what a surprise, of COURSE you missed it! Right in that menu where I said to look at:
Booting PS3 Backups - Information, Theory and Application, that takes you to:
http://www.ps3-hacks.com/forums/viewtop … 379#p20379
Schools must be teaching a different type English these days, and are teaching very VERY poor reading skills.
This is why it's a waste of time for me to keep updating those posts, and answering questions, when people refuse to see what's already here...

I do Apologies, I understand now
EDIT:
I was reading through the Information and I came across this:
"possibly because hacked2123 only tried with a DVD-R versus an actual Blu-ray Disc Recordable (which is the proper media for the PS3's blue laser)."
As if stated it was a DVD-R , does that mean there is a possibility that a Blu-ray would work?
I know I sound completely stupid, although I want full clarification

BR-D backup, Still doesn't, well, wouldn't work. No commercial burner will do what a STAMPING process does. Security is added to the stamp, after the game is structured. If you had the money, you could do a 1:1 copy with a huge machine, that makes stamped media from an original, and allows copies. Rumor has it, this is being done somewhere. I read they can take a microscopic photograph of the media (the disc), and simply reproduce the glass die for stamping. It would not be all that impossible, but who has that kind of money?
That kind of money being: That machine will cost YOU more than buying every release title you want, at full retail price, for the life cycle of the console. No one is buying EVERY SINGLE title (if so, wow, you are a loser). So if over the life span of the PS3, you buy a gracious 50 titles, at $60.00 each, That's only $3,000.00 (not counting the ones you will buy at reduced price). Those machines are one or two TENS of thousands + materials and chemicals, so you would not save squat, to make backups... I owned over 100 original XBOX1 games, but I never paid full retail; except for the Halo series.
However, more on the PS3 game from DVD thing? It depends on the console version. The release models WILL play PS3 games from BR-D and DVD, it states so in the console media specifications. The newer models, lost a bunch of media compatibility and media format options for PS3 games, and SACD.
