My 40g PS3 has suddenly stop working. I turned it off by normal power down procedures after playing a game. A few moments later I powered it back up to play again and it didn't load up the game. So I tried to eject it but to no avail nothing happened. So I dismantled the ps3 and the drive and took out the disc. I put it back together and tried to insert the disc but the PS3 would not take it in automatically. I have done everything I can think of to test it. I took out the stepper motor the drives the mechanism that takes in the cd and placed a nine volt battery to it and it ran fine. My blue light flashes when I insert a disc so it the little switch board that is attached the motor is functional. The motor will not run when it should I am guessing that the blu-ray drive board is faulty any suggestions or help.

You shouldn't be using your HARD DRIVE to insert your games into...

The hard disk does not work in the manner you are speaking of, it is the Blu-Ray drive.
Send it back to Sony...

I hate it when my Hard drive starts injecting and ejecting. I have to take it to rehab and then a psyciatrist, far to much hassle ![]()
