Anyone know what PSP motherboard you can hack and which ones you can't? After selling my PSP to help buy my PS3 i am looking to get another one but only if I can hack it. I would go to the PSP site but they are jerks if you don't know everything about them

any psp with fw 5.03 can run homebrew

new slims (2000), they come with 4.01+ preinstalled and brights (3000) CANT use pandora and CANT install CFW

As RYU said, any PSP with firmware that come ready in firmware 4.01+.

If you have one that starts, like mine, at 1.5 and then upgraded, doesn't matter, you can downgrade.

So i cant buy a new one and use CFW but it will be able to run homebrew?

As i said in my first post they are hell to deal with if you are a noob to the PSP. i know how they are I was a member of the site till the PS3 came and and i dont want to deal with their crap for not knowing anything

just SEARCH, READ the Stickies (NOOBs DONT DO THAT,)
most question that are asked can be found be doing that

No you cannot use homebrew without CFW.

you CAN run homebrew using 5.03 ChickHEN
and that is NOT CFW

I've never heard of ChickHEN. thanks for the heads up.

So I guess it is possible...so, just a heads up.

My brother has a PSP SLIM, running on firmware 5.03
What does he do to get ChickHEN running, and can this allow him to run EMULATORS?

yes ChickHEN will let you run EMULATORS and other homeberw

look at PSP-Hacks for more info

ChickHEN will be in memory till you do a full reboot

^^^ Yes, most homebrew work, I don't believe all do though.
