Please don't start flaming about how Killzone 2 is the best game ever. Just hear my out first.
I've only played the demo of Killzone and as far as I can tell it's just like any other shooter. It feels just like Call of Dudy, except a little high tech. I'm not saying it's bad, I just expected more from it. With all the hype it's been getting I though it should be one of the best games for the PS3. Somewhere in the Bioshock and MGS4 catagory.
I was pretty disapointed. Now tell me, is this game over rated or does the demo not give it justice?

its a FPS and the best FPS for all 3 systems IMO. im guessing ur not a die hard FPS fan if u think it feels like COD cause there completely different as FPS's. and u really cant compare a online based FPS to a offline based fps like bioshock and a offline stealth game like mgs. what online fps would you say is better then killzone?

Mick is right though, there are different feels to FPS's then what one would think, especially die hard fans like me.
Killzone 2 is a lot slower, and feels a lot "heavier" (stiffer, more realistic in weight of guns).
Call of Duty is faster, and is "light" (arcade style, run n gun, no real weight to weapons)
I'd say the Battlefield would be in between, if anything. Guns have some weight, but not enough to be as noticed as in games like Killzone 2.
Offline games compared to single-player are COMPLETELY different. For instance, single-player depends on difficulty setting, online depends on player's skill. Online has more "freedom" compared to single-player, with almost completely open maps. Most FPS games are LINEAR (excluding Fallout 3 if you include it). Also, with single-player games, when you "respawn", it pretty much restarts. Online goes on without you, dead or alive.
One other huge difference is the "weight" is even less in online, to make it more comfortable for the average player.
Stealth-based games, such as MGS4 and SC series, are 100% different. These contain LIGHT weapon differences (no real weight in guns) HOWEVER it does add a lot more realism to your players. These normally causes a slight time to make one perform these actions. For instance, in SPLINTER CELL, you actually watch your guy crouch, takes about 2 - 4 seconds to complete the transition, not to mention take out your weapon. FPS have no transition to take out weapon and no transition to crouch (since you don't see yourself)

Umm, this is a PS3 (Sony) Exclusive, so how is it the best for all three systems? If I can get this for XBox 360, please tell me where...
It is overrated, by the way... Once you have played Halo, and maybe Halo II, no other FPS compares. I didn't care for Halo III at all... I like the Ghost Recon games, but as far as these same old FPS with different everything, is still the same FPS...

it is well overrated, i thought resistance 2 was way better than KZ2. COD is the best of the FPS genre right now IMO.

i meant its the best fps of all 3 systems, no other system has a better fps. i loved the first halo when it came out and played that to death and i played it to death cause i was 13 and it was easy to master. i cant play that crap nemore, i need something that requires skill and that is atleast a little realistic with its physics.

Way to put it in perspective. I never thought that "in depth" about FPS games. So is this basicly a PS3 verson of Halo? (except better of course) I've never really been a fan of Halo, so maybe that's way I'm disapointed. Since it apperently has such good multiplayer, I might still buy it (or maybe Resistance 2).
I guess I expected a lot more out of it than I got. I thought since this game was getting so much hype, it must be an amazing game. IMO Bioshock and MGS4 are the best games I've ever played. I guess I'm just a fan of games with good story lines. Bioshock was just a regular FPS (if you don't count the plasmids) and I loved that game. I also liked the 'feel' of the shotgun on it. Makes me wish it was playable online.
So, thanks for you opinion on this. Now I just have a few more questions:
Which would you recommend? Killzone 2 or Resistance 2?
What game do you think have a good story line?
Thanks again.

you should try resident evil 5 IMO resident evil games are story driven games and plus the gameplay is good aswell, the final boss battle is epic! if you have followed the resident evil games from the 1st one you will like it.

KZ2 is horrible...I can't stand the controls and the laggy, like heavy feeling. I tried it twice...waste of 60 dollars.

Resident evil 5 is a great game, even if you haven't played the other games. (Thanks to the loading screens explaining prior games and story lines).
I started playing by Resident Evil 4 (never liked the "tank" controls of the old ones). However, this is not considered a FPS, which I believe he was looking towards.
As for MY opinion, I would recommend KILLZONE 2 as I haven't or ever had like the Resistance online (people take soooo long to die and very unrealistic) but I have loved the KILLZONE 2 online (plus I love playing with BG music)

Alright, so I went into gamestop looking for a game and the guy there convinced me to buy Killzone 2. I have to say, it's a pretty good game. The story line is pretty boring, but the online play is awsome. I've never been much of an online guy until now. You guys are right, it's a great FPS. Probably the best. Or it might be if it had Natzi Zombies.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Yeah, I was thinking about getting Resadent Evil 5. The game play was similar to MGS4 and I like scary games. The ony thing that I didn't like was that I found myself running in circle from the zombies in the demo. Not to menchon all the zombies are black. The game seemed pretty rasist.
Anyways, I don't care why kind of game it is really. If it has a really good story line then I'm sold.

In case you haven't noticed, RE4 has a whole bunch of spanish people, nobody complained.
Why are they ALL spanish? Oh, well because it takes place in SPAIN.
You can't expect a whole shit load of white people in a black-populated area located in AFRICA (especially small, poor towns like these) because it is geographically correct to show that there are in fact Black People who live in this area, not white.

Offline
I didn't like the R5 demo because no matter how fast you run away the infected people would just pop-in behind you/when you aren't looking.
Also I read that it isn't scary.
BTW- there is more than just black people in africa but i guess if you are only in those dirt poor, shabby town areas (like where this game takes place) then maybe only black africans will be there. Not necessarily racist but INCREDIBLY in-sensitive.
Get inFAMOUS people, I been playing the demo and it's great. Even if you like FPSs because when you shoot you gotta take like one. The demo will be out on like the 21st so you can see for youself but i already pre-ordered it (at gamespot for the gigawatt blades) because it's so great

Oh yeah, I was thinking about getting inFAMOUS. I've been reading on separate sites of people talking about the demo, but I don't see it on the PSN store. How did you get it?
I'm just not sure if I should buy anything just yet. I do want to save my money for some good releases coming in September. Like Bioshock 2.

I got it from some guy on another site, he just gave me the info for game sharing and i downloaded it. The account wasn't his though, just one created so that he could share the download with a bunch of people.
