Santa just brought us a PS3, and we're very excited. We have an LG 32LB9D Flat Panel TV and a Toshiba Rear Projection TV.
The PS3 will play on the Toshiba in HDMI just fine. No problems.
However, that is not the TV we want to keep the PS3 hooked up to.
We bought the LG and hooked up the Wii and PS2 to it. We hooked up the PS3 to the LG and it worked fine for about 10 minutes. Then, the screen goes all wonky, the sound goes, and the TV goes black. It is still on, as is the PS3, but the TV then looks like it just can't get the picture in and then my remote stops working, and I have to unplug the TV. I plug it back in and I get a picture for about three seconds, then it starts again.
So we though the HDMI on the LG would be an issue, so we went out and bought a component cable and hooked it up that way.
Same thing.
Please help us. I REALLY want the PS3 to work on the LG TV. When you see the colors, it's amazing.
Thanks!

No, the screen looks lie a channel that is out of focus, like when TV's had "rabbit ears" (antennas) and the picture would float in and out in black and white even if the TV was in color.
The PS3 is brand new.

Sounds like a PAL signal on NTSC or vise-versa

Powerslave, how does one fix that?

maybe try outputting the ps3 at an lower resolution, like 720p ,just an idea
if you bought the tv and ps3 in the same country and both brand new they should have both the same region for playback i guess.

are you drunk? Hardly any of that makes sense.
If one is PAL and the other is NTSC you can't fix it. You need to get a new TV or PS3 with matching regions. But I thought if it was HD it didn't matter. 1080p PAL is the same as 1080P NTSC execpt frame rates
