Here's a video of the new Playstation 3 Rapid Fire Mod I've created. It has no programmed chips, and its cheap and relatively easy to create. The official release will be within a few days. I will include a Tutorial that has step by step instructions with pictures and a Video.

Shame that SIXAXIS controllers now are being made completely black and not semi-transparent. Also a shame that people are upgrading to DualShock 3. Other than that, I quite like it.

1) The first link is for a computer mouse which only has one connection point for the click. The "wacky" configuration of the ps3 controller requires 2 points to be connected for the R1 button to be pressed. Its similar in the 555 timer but its different in the way its applied. The 555 timer configuration from the xbox 360 would not work correctly on ps3 due to these 2 points instead of 1.
2) The second link is the same as the first, it would not work unless you applied it correctly, which hasn't been done.
3) The third link is for xbox 360 which follows the same rules as both 1 and 2.
4) The fourth link is also for xbox 360 which is the same as 1,2, & 3

Does your mod work on R2, with or without a selection switch?

I haven't tested on R2 yet but it could be applied to R2 if you found the necessary points. And if you were really into you you could make a small switch that would change between R1 and R2. I plan to keep constant updates after the official release on different ways to use it. As I said in the pre-release video, one of the first things to be released after the original is a way to configure the speed of the shooting.

Thank you. I was going be releasing the tutorial today but I ran into some difficulties (Nothing that has to do with the controller thankfully). I really don't like how the new dualshock 3's are not transparent, but the LED is for not only to see the speed of the gun but its actually necessary for the proper functioning of the rapid fire.

Maybe place the LED behind the PS button?

It can be done that way, you could have a mix of this new rapid fire, and the ps button LED mod. Thats not a bad idea. I'm going to have to try that out sometime.
Offline
Would be good if you can actually have a use for the LED mod lol. So are you selling the kits or the assembled kit or what?
Offline
I'm trying to avoid people buying expensive kits off ebay. I'll be providing a step by step tutorial including a video with everything you would need to build it. All the parts can be found at any radioshack near you. My goal is to avoid people paying $30-50 for a kit. Basically this is for glory not for gold.

Ok cool, do you have a list of items so I can start sourcing them?
Offline
I do have a list of items but I don't want to release it until the official release (which may be tomorrow hint hint)

Haha I was waiting for the person to say that first. I'm personally better without the rapid fire because I use the M16. But I had the idea and I made it become a reality for whoever isn't good at the game.

I don't really need it, just want something to do with my SIXAXIS controllers that have mounted up. I won't necessarily use for shooting games either, maybe driving games too which would improve acceleration so that it's more accurate.
Offline
So far its only been tested on SIXAXIS but in theory the way I connected everything it should work on Dualshock3 as well, as long as you disconnect one of the rumbles to make room.

lol, no chance!

I have yet to see the insides of a Dualshock but I have removed one of the xbox rumbles when I was modding that to make room and You hardly noticed the difference because the other handle still has the rumble in it. I do promise though that I will look into the Dualshock3 and make it for the Dualshock (I am almost 100% sure it will work in the dualshock.)
Much like a piece of software, I will be releasing regular updates on small things here and there that you can do with the new rapid fire such as Switching buttons (R1 > R2, R1 > Square), Adjustable speed on the gun (which will be the first update), PS Button LED with the rapid fire (thanks for the idea!), and much more stuff that I know you guys here will enjoy. In the end its really a money situation (paying for these controllers are expensive!), when money allows I will release a new update for the rapid fire.

You're not buying new ones are you?! buy them of eBay used.
The problem with vibration controllers is there are two motors and each has a different sized weight, so remove one and it will be unbalanced when it rumbles. I think the DualShock 3 motors are the same as in the DualShock 2 which I have seen inside so there should be a small amount of room at the very end of the controllers, beyond the weights.
Offline
It wouldn't be enough space at the end of the controller. On the xbox 360 it also uses two different sized weights, but it still felt perfectly fine after removing the smaller one.
Offline
Some bad news... I was planning on releasing the tutorial today, but due to the controller breaking from unforeseen circumstances while the tutorial was being made, I'm going to have to push back the release date of the rapid fire until I get a new controller.
Offline
It's better explained with images. This is a delicate process. Not following one step correctly could result in it not working.
