Hacking wireless networks

Could i hack a wireless network and give myself access to anyones computer on that network. Kinda the same way you would send someone a trojan horse or somethin but through a wireless network. Im just trying to learn what can be done and how its done.

Re: Hacking wireless networks

Good luck if they're using WEP or other security...   You won't be able to even connect to it without their password.   I am sure you can search YAHOO for "Hacking wireless networks" - it's there...

Re: Hacking wireless networks

Well, if they are unprotected, that's pretty easy, HOWEVER, they have to have file sharing enabled for you to place anything on a PC for them to RUN, or REPLACE a file that gets run, to contaminate their system.  You can get into the ROUTER itself by using the 196.168.1.1 or 0.1 in your browser, and mess with it.  Once you are connected, you would use the My Computer, then down to network places, and see if anything comes up, like "MSHOME" "WORGROUP", click on that and see if any PC names come up. If so, then you will get into whatever file or folder is shared.

You need to use the internet to learn how to IMBED a virus into graphic, PM3, and other files.  If they have no Ant-Virus, then, well, they're toast.

Now, your MAC address will be recorded in the ROUTER table, so, before you disconnect, you can reset the router , or to eliminate all possibilities; use the upgrade firmware with CORRUPT firmware to toast the router too...  Oh, there is all kinds of things you can do, however, it is a crime...  That means, you download the upgraded firmware, use a HEX editor and just blank out some stiff at random, then have the router UPDATE, and it should just die, if you messed enough up...

You can be tracked by your MAC address, as your ISP would also have that on file.  If they were smart enough to CALL the local ISP to track the MAC, you will get busted.

Anyhow, you can search the net, but if the WLAN is unprotected, they're a sitting duck...

Re: Hacking wireless networks

well on my ps3 i turned media server on using someones unsecured internet connection and the dudes media server came up it was called steven and when i clicked on it i could access his music videos & photos, i got a photo of him and i realised what house he lived in lol but about a month ago i tried it again and it came up with a error message saying that my ps3 was not registered to access the media server but his connection was still unsecured. if you want to hack wireless networks the best program out there is air crack.

lol wow... you and I think alike Powerslave smile I had to do that once for my friend. His ex-girlfriend wasn't giving his laptop back so I sat outside there house in my car with my laptop and connected to their router (I set it up so I knew all the info) then just updated the firmware with a corrupt .bin file and fraked up their net. Also, screwed up the windows install on the laptop so that she would give it back since she wasn't gonna be able to get it fixed for free without the receipt.

One trick if you can get access to the admin password for the system is when you go to browse the files, type \\hostname\C$   , it will prompt you for the admin and password and this will give access to all files on the system, not just the one's they are sharing.

@Mrturnsignal: Some software you may want to look into are Look@Lan and Cain & Abel

Same thing happened to me. Except these people didnt live close to me but were on the same ISP as me. They had there windows media player share there crap and some how it was detected by my ps3. The girl goes to my school. I never said anything to her tho cuz i would look like a creep. But i switched ISP's because my last ISP's system was horrible. His connection speed was slow. He offered a 1.5mbps which is what i had and i got at most a 1mbps connection. Then the bastard would tell me he wasnt detecting a slow speed. He said it was a virus. But i had just installed a fresh copy of windows and told him that then he never emailed me back. I told him about me testing my speed on speedtest.net and he said we dont trust outside speed testers or somethin. So i switched to another one. Even tho i have limited bittorrent im much happier with this connection.

And powerslave thanks for then info. I knew about the router thing and i knew about the media server however i didnt know about the MAC address being recorded. But what if i never used a laptop on my internet. Wouldn't that be harder to track because they wouldnt be able to tell where its coming from? Or something like that.

Re: Hacking wireless networks

Hacking wireless is a simple procedure once youve got the basics learnt. However people are easily put off when it comes to actually needing to read something. Same as why we get so many of the same posts on this forum.

Hacking WEP is a pretty simple procedure and can be done in a few minutes.

However it is possible to do from a windows system but its much more safer to do from a linux system as it leaves less traces.

Tracking a MAC address is pretty simple, so if you do some reading youl learn how to spoof your MAC address.

IMO the best way to hack a wireless network is from someone elses computer. smile

Re: Hacking wireless networks

Yes but if the laptop (whether its windows or linux) hasnt been used on my network then how are they gonna trace it back to my ip address. If the first network it gets on is someone elses wont it be traced back to there connection.

Re: Hacking wireless networks

That should be true, but then are you just going to leave it on there network? That kinda gets rid of the point in having a laptop.

Re: Hacking wireless networks

At my last house a neighbour started using my internet as I had no need for security (nobody around with any knowledge to do anything with the free access. I really wanted to give her a virus or something but asked my mate (computer genius) and he said it wasn't possible in the conditions and with what I wanted to do. I guess I'd have to learn more about it, would like to!

Cant see why its not possible? They are already connected to your network, its the ideal scenario.

Just be careful with your virus or it may backfire smile

Re: Hacking wireless networks

They can possibly trace you by mac address but if you spoof it before you hack your neighbors network and then change it back when getting on yours you should be fine.

That's what i told him to do, i just never told him how.

If he wants to hack it that bad then he will find out how.

Really?  I bet that's what they said before the A-Bomb was invented...  Well, we know where that went...

There is always a rhyme or reason why people want to know things.  I never ask unless I plan on doing something with it...

I'm pretty sure the atomic bombs were made for war.  I've learned quite a bit about those.

Re: Hacking wireless networks

I dont care what you guys think. I mean sure ill probally hack a wireless network once or twice but the only reason i asked about it was to see how its done. What i can do with it and what not. But if you guys want to think im gonna hack a bunch of networks go ahead and think that i dont care smile. Im not saying im never gonna do it. But im just saying that that wasnt the reason i started this topic.

Re: Hacking wireless networks

Yes, but you asked specifically about sending a Trojan Horse through it.  Asking how to hack a wireless network for GP is one thing, THEN going on further to ask about sending a Trojan through it is a little more specific and targeted.

Not really. I used to be into hacking computers with trojans. So i have some knowledge about trojan horses. I knew how they work and thats the way i like hacking computers. Just wanted to know if it was possible to send it onto a computer through wireless network.
