First off I am new to Linux so this is all foreign to me. I have installed YDL 5.0 on my PS3 and I am trying to get some programs up and running. I downloaded bittorrent and there is an icon for it on my desktop, but when i click on it to install it, I get an error saying the progam can't be downloaded becuase there is no connection to the net. I am also having touble with flash although I read adobe doesn't have a flash player. I downloaded the beta version here http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer9.html and follwed the instructions to a tee with no sucess. Has anyone else had any sucess, or is this even a compatable flash update. I have also been trying to install java from http://www.java.com/en/download/linux_manual.jsp with no sucess. I followed the directions, chaged the .bin file to be executable and went through the user agreement, but the .rpm file is not created like it indicates in the instructions. Any help would be greatly apprecitated.

First of all. The PS3 is not an Intel based console.![]()
So, you need the PPC's (Power PC) stuffs (java, flashplayer and so on) for it.
Unfortunatelly does not exist those apps for PS3's Linux a.k.a PPC based Linux. Maybe in the future...
But, you would try the IBM PPC's (Power PC not Pocket PC) java. It should be work...
The WIFI also doesn't supported on the PS3.

You could also wait until they crack that xmb system and make custom firmwires for it. It would be nice if there was a way to get more ram into the system.
