What?

No, It is not possible to download something from the internet without an internet connection.
It is possible to transfer Movies (Files) to the PS3, using a wired/wireless router and PC. aka Media Server.
Or you can manually transfer the files to the PS3, using a memory stick or other storage medium.

Re: Please help-

No,
You simple take a movie file, Put it on the USB Memory Stick, Plug it into your PS3, view the file on your PS3 and select Copy.

Re: Please help-

You dont have too. Just click triangle and click display all files or something like that. But i think its best he put it in a Video folder cuz if he thought he could download movies without internet then hes not very smart. Oh and dont forget that it needs to be in a certain format. MP4, divx and so on.

You can play BOUGHT movies on any PS3 without an internet connection...

I don't download movies, but I will download an Episode of something I missed, like SG-Atlantis, and BSG.  I will be missing this weeks episode of SGA...  I have all 10 seasons of SG-1 on DVD, I bought those, and seasons 9 and 10 I got from Siptang...

I do waste a lot of money man, I buy just about everything...

SO, about three weeks ago, I decided to look around, like torrent portal, iso hunt, and SO ON, and WOW, you can download an entire series of a show?   So, I said, what the hell, I will try it, and I guess in about a WEEK or so, I will have all four seasons of "Enterprise."   I was able to get TOS season 2, but real low quality, it sucks...  I want to see the new TOS releases with the updated graphics added...

I do download the Howard Stern show every day (when NEW), but I also have Siruis-XM with four receivers...   I also record all the SULU guest appearances on to DVD.  I record the show every day to HDD on my iLO DVDRHD04.  The ones I like, I burn to DVD, yeah, a blank screen with audio only, in SLP mode too... I upgraded it to 100GB, but I used the ERASE option from the menu, so it's 80GB again.  I have to remove it and reformat it again...

Downloading, yeah....  They have to get a handle on it man...
