red pixels while playing BD games/movies on ps3...?

I was wondering if anyone else here is going through this... i have my PS3 connected to my Receiver (Harman Avr 247) via HDMI to my Sharp Aquos LC52d64u. when ever i play a blue ray game or movie i end up seeing red pixels show up on screen when ever theres a black background. it looks like dead pixels but its not cause i dont get the problem when watching cable... i ended up getting my tv replaced assuming it was a bad set. i also upgraded the firmware on my receiver... but im stilling getting the red pixels always in different spots. i tried to just connect the ps3 straight to the tv but have the same issue... i been getting this since the last 2 firmware updates...

A friend of mine is having the same issue with his... he has a Sony Hdtv and sony receiver... connected the same way... hdmi...

does anyone know why this is happening?

Re: red pixels while playing BD games/movies on ps3...?

heres an update on my problem...

Once i got home, i turned on everything, ps3 -> receiver -> tv. i left it on the XMB to see if i can cause the problem to appear and in about 1/2hr it started to pop up, red pixels around the feed box on the upper right hand side. felt the ps3 and it was really hot, so was my receiver, thing is they're both seperated from each other in their own slot in the tv stand. I started to wonder if its a heating issue... but dont know which one is causing the problem...

so i went and took off the hdmi from the receiver and moved it straight to the tv (ps3 -> tv) had it off no monre than a minute... powered up and left it on again for awhile... NO RED PIXELS and better picture...

can anyone figure out why am i getting the red pixels when i have it hooked up to the receiver? my receiver isnt up scaling the picture, it sends it through... its a 1080p pass through... and why only with the ps3 it happens? with my HD tivo S3 it doesnt give me that problem....

i have a yamaha receiver liked up to my ps3 tv ect ive not had anything like that myself.

a off subject question, dose your receiver send the sound from your ps3 hdmi to the speaker? on mine i have to have the hdmi for video and an opticl for sound
but the hdmi will send the sound to my tv just not the surround speakers, would just like to kno if there all the same, (seems a waste of cable to me)

Re: red pixels while playing BD games/movies on ps3...?

COuld be you are getting interference from inside the receiver.  I am using a Sony, not with pass through though.  I do not get any pixeling, so, try it without pass through, if your amp has that option. I have a STR-DG720.   I enabled pass through, all that does is allow the audio to pass through to the TV as well as to the amp.   Try a good EMI/RFI power strip.
