That's a very good point.  That kind of thing would be very hard to regulate.  That may be why they let you change your user icon on your PS3, but not your PSN icon.

nah, i think people on ps3 are more mature than most ppl think and offensive images shouldn't be that big of a problem.

and also, they could easily enable a "report offensive user" and sony can check say, the last 3 avatars (incase they change it) so you can't spam that feature, because if u jus report and then it bans would be stupid.

or we could quit bitching  I don't pay attention to others icons enough to care   and if you do you can use AIM

I think Sony should expand on the basic online icons they are a bit $hit.
