I've got a broken xbox 360 that powers up and has the rrod. The real problem is that the thing doesn't get any power to the cpu or gpus. If i leave it turned on for any amount of time, the processors stay cool to the touch. I can't find any information on this on google, and i'd really love to have this thing fixed.
Also, I have a completely seperate issue with a different xbox 360 i'm thinking about buying. This 360 is modded and I'm wondering if I can put the firmware back to original?
Thanks for any help

if the have a backup of the original firmware you could. Or you could dump the custom firmware, get the key, download the orig firmware from someone, and then put the key in that firmware.
Why would you want the original firmware back on it anyway? Do you not want to play "legally backed up" games?

I don't like the risk of the console being banned from online play.

pirate about $3000 in games and buy a second one for $300 and only pay for the games you want to play online.
Actually imo Live is way overhyped. Now that the PS3 has in game XMB support and the online is free if I got banned from Live I honestly would not care. I would just get the PS3 version and pay $0 to play it online for a year.
