Unless your name is Ben Heck its impossible to put a 3.5' Hard drive inside a ps3...but they do sell a 500gb laptop hard drive that would fit nice and snug in your ps3 but its expensive...Newegg sells a 320gb 2.5' samsung hard drive for $109.00 i think...thats what i saw it for last

Offline
yeah actually i found out you can put a 3.5 in your hard drive it just sticks out

if you want to connect it inside the ps3 no, that is physically impossible at the moment, if you want to attach it to an external enclosure then your fine, this is ussually the best option, for pc or ps3, because its a great back up.

i dont kno if u mean externally just through usb but if so you can hook it up to the main 2.5" using a sata cable

OMG what is this?
AN ADAPTER ZOMG amazing. but seriously ur another forum tool. u dont need the adapter and u can jus hook up a sata cable to the connector inside the ps3. dont tell me im incorrect.

1. thats y u have a external power supply for the HDD
2. y wouldint anyone need 1tb on a MEDIA MACHINE. if it was int for media the only people that would need a HDD over 250GB would be pro's. and YES, the ps3 does support 1 TB hdd's. altho an update did stop one certain 1 tb HDD from working (well atleast someone came here claiming that)
heres another picture cause for some people, words are too much, even tho they are on a forum.
and here is max console reporting it

ok i found out why and i think its cuz i used swiss knife 2 format it in fat32 and in the process i lost half my space..not good,it split my hdd in two instead of one big partition...
