You know. You might have found something. But i doubt it. If it hasnt loaded the disc then it probally wont.

There is no hack, it gave you access to nothing, did not allow playing of a backup, or the running of unsigned code. 

What EXACTLY does it do when you hold your finger over (you mean ON) the PS3 power button?

I tried a similar thing with a game disc.  A minute or two after you remove it, the PS3 checks to see if it is still in the drive.  IF you wait long enough, you get a message to put the game disc back in.   A  game will run without the disc once the level is loaded.  I did this with a few games, HOWEVER, the PS3 eventually pauses the game, and asks for the disc.   I am willing to bet a backup won't be sufficient either, it checks the validity of the disc, and the volume name in case you put in ANOTHER disc, I tried that too...

Very affective.

I didnt try it with any games. Dont you have another game to try it with?

yea true but it doesnt freeze
cause u can still acces the menu that comes up when u press the ps button
so its like the game is loaded but its a black screen..
also i said "if" it freezes

look, an exploit is something unprotected(but hidden) so you can run unsigned code and then use kernel mode functions to enable unsigned code to be run from the XMB.

Usually it is done by a buffer overflow where unsigned code replaces signed code (usually a game) and then you are running unsigned code
