Can't wait but a little dissapointed that we don't really have any current games when it comes out that support the trophies.
I need MGS or GTA iv or resistance to be trophie ready.

i wouldnt be surprised if they put out a patch for MGS that would show which emblems you have recived at the end of the game to be displayed as your trophies.

That would be good. There is no way that I have seen how to see those emblems again after you beaten the game.

the in-game XMB will work for PS3 title ONLY
http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=29061
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/885/885177p1.html
Note that the in-game XMB access only works for PlayStation 3 titles (both downloadable and disc-based games). You can't do this stuff while playing a PSone or PS2 game, nor while watching a movie. It sounds like you may eventually be able to access the XMB while watching a movie at some point in the future, but this is still pending at this point, and will likely be based on user demand (so start sending letters to your local senator).
NOT PS1 games
NOT PS2 games
NOT movies(yet)
just PS3 games

Sony is reported to have said that Trophies patched into old games will not be awarded retrospectively.
The decision to not award Trophies in this way is due to the relative ease of save game sharing on PlayStation 3, according to this.
Had Trophies been retrospective, save game files with everything unlocked could have been easily traded, making it easy for people to cheat the system.
This means that should Naughty Dog patch Uncharted: Drake's Fortune with Trophies, you'll need to go through the game all over again in order to get the points up for grabs from it.

Yeah, I was wondering what they were gonna do about that. That's pretty stupid.

Duh cause if you play a PS2 game you can tell something goes on that switches it from PS3 to PS2...like it's not even running that operating system anymore. You're not signed in anymore etc. Same with movies.
On their blog that douche bag put a FAQ up. Read this....I don't like how it sounds.
Currently only music stored on the HDD is accessible in games that support this feature. We’d also like to reiterate that Firmware v2.40 merely enables custom soundtracks. It’s up to developers to include this feature in upcoming games (or to patch existing ones).

UGHHHHH!!!! i hate how sony is leaving that up to developers why cant custom tracks just work with everything.... im hoping most developers push patches out....

agreed. sony put on the big boy shoes and get the whip out and tell those devs to get to work.
Offline
maybe he means just on PS3 games.....since only PS3 games support it? Some one should ask him. How is that not in his FAQ. What a bag of douche.
EDIT: we need to be able to strikethrough our text (can we) I just found this sad, sad news ![]()

Yes, any currently released games would need a patch for in-game soundtracks. Moving forward, game developers can build that functionality in, if they so choose.

Lol jeff the douchebag. And that sucks. And we all know the ports from xbox 3shitty arent gonna have in game music because they dont give a $hit what features we have. as long as they can do the least amount of work to put it on ps3 to get more money.

Yep.....that would include CoD
OHHHH check this out. Sony has a version that will let them play music weather the game is patched or not. Cheap basterds
Jeff the DoucheBag wrote:
That was a modified, earlier version of Firmware 2.4 (check the date when we show the clock). No word yet on if PJM will patch that functionality.
Awesome assholes. Jeff the DoucheBag and Eric the Asshole can play music over any game they want while us mere mortals have to wait for a patch.
