They are so huge files, God Ridge racer is around 13GB .. WOW. I wonder if there will be a compressor for PS3 ISO games like the one for the PSP. Is it CSO?

I would assume they will be compressable. I have some experience with the psp and using devkits to load pirated psp games. They are able to be compressed, so I'm hoping the same for the ps3. God... if we could use backups on the ps3 that would be amazing.... as long as you could transfer the game to the ps3 via some other method besides a burned blu ray disk (considering the burners are around $500+)

man i just hope it'll be able to work with my firmware. I'm thinking of stopping the firmware updates on mine.

Lol you forget one thing. I'm a proud known pirate. Hopefully they make like a devhook for Ps3 or something.

PS3 and PSP are similar in every aspect. So it wouldn't be hard for anyone to hack it. Remember they use Kboot

Well we have to start from scratch. I'll try to find a way to load PSone ISO games on the PS3.

Dang it! That would be awesome if Sony released an update allowing the backup of games bought from a store... though then it might require an internet connection. You see, they might make the PS3 send some kind of I.D. number that's on each of the discs into some kind of database (Belonging to Sony) so if you tried to let a friend copy YOUR game to THEIR PS3 after you previously backed it up on your own PS3, the database would recognize that a disc of that exact I.D. number has already been successfully backed up, thus your PS3 wouldn't receive the "OK"  from the database to create a back up.

Hmmm... maybe if enough people would go to Sony's website, using the "contact us" feature, and send them the same idea over and over... something might kind of work out, though I'm doubtful it will happen, it's always worth a try, right?

I read over ay Eurasia that the possibility of putting your games on the HDD is true.  You can install Linux on the PS3, and they were able to see what was on the disc.  Thing is, you're looking at LARGE hard drives for saving these games.  There is a HDD expansion coming for the PS3, and I read an article where you can use any SATA drive, reformat it using Sony's format in the setup, and now you have a much larger drive.   If I find them, I will post them, unless they are aalready here.

I just got the 60GB model yesterday.  PLaying games from the HDD is already possible, as you can download the games from their on-line service.  There are like three freebies now.

what can i say..all console will have or be able to play backup or p*****d..this is frm the day of the cartridged games consoles to 360.........i can bet that the ps3 will be able to..only time will tell....how and when...but installing to HDD is more likely....like copy to memory stick for the psp....
