Wireless Internet Question

As of now I have my home wireless network set up brilliantly throughout my house. I have 5 computers being able to access the internet wirelessly in addition to my newest toy the PlayStation 3. However I'm a college student and I'm only home for a couple more weeks and I was worried about my loss of internet usage on the PS3 because I will be moving it into my dorm room.

My college does have free wireless internet but it is not accessible from my dorm room. My questions is if its possible in some way to connect to my internet at home through some sort of IP address or anything of that nature? I'm pretty familiar with computers but fairly new to wireless networking. Also if this isn't possible. My dorm has two network lines running into it currently connected to my roommate and my computer. Is it also possible to use my own computer, connected to the network line, as a router or gateway to the PS3? Hopefully there is some solution to access the internet wirelessly on my PS3 at college.

I realize its very possible to run an Ethernet cable from the wall to the PS3, but that would be inconvenient because It would require a long cable very capable of being tripped over and it means at least one of the two computers would not be able to access the internet, not to mention the trouble it would cause to switch back and forth from connecting the cable to a computer or to a PS3.

Any help would be delightful. Thanks in advance.

Re: Wireless Internet Question

theres no way of getting the wireless from your home to college but at your college find out where the connection is and then you can buy something i think its called a signal booster or something to pick up the signal again and send it from their so if you put it in your friends dorm thats closer and can pick it up you may have more chance. Im not sure were you get them from. My dads an electrictionand he gets loadsa gadgets for cheap. So it might set you back a few bob but browse the net

Glad to help
