i was thinking can we do that. because fedora would allow that.
and well it would cut the price of buying servers that burn holes in your pocket.

Are you asking if you could, or just saying that its possible? Its possible, but you would want more ram in it. But, you can't put more ram in a PS3 (to the extent of my knowledge).

Yes but until we hack the PS3 we don't need the extra RAM. I remember Powerslave saying that if we add RAM the PS3 wouldn't detect it. But unless we hack it and make a CFW (tough luck) and mess with the flash so that it reads the RAM, we don't need to add any.

Not only that, a server should be FAST... We don't get all the power from the PS3 from Linux.
RAM is essential to server use, and since the ram is separated, and two different types of ram split between CPU and GPU you only have 256MB to use for CPU. The PS3 bios will not recognize (can't be 100% certain, as no one has tried it) any extra ram. This is also true with the original XBOX, you can ADD ram, but only the hacked bios will see and allow use of it. The CPU does not have any direct access to the GPU's ram, so you can't think on using it, it is for the GPU only, and on the GPU itself.
I have a semi-complete component read-out on the PS3 in the Hardware section.

Oh, as a WEB server, yeah, PS3 will handle that well enough, not like a Novell Netware or other type of server...
